16 July 2025
From 6 to 10 July 2025, the GREENART Project was prominently featured at the 16th International Conference on Surfaces, Coatings and Nanostructured Materials (NANOSMAT) in Naples, Italy, a leading event in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Oral contributions from GREENART researchers were included in the conference programme under the dedicated session “SS1 – Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Applied to Cultural Heritage”, which was co-organised and chaired by GREENART’s Coordinator Contact, Prof. David Chelazzi.
A major highlight of the event was the plenary lecture delivered by Prof. Piero Baglioni, GREENART Coordinator, titled “Green Formulations for the Cleaning of Works of Art”. Presented during the conference’s opening plenary session, the lecture showcased some of the most recent results achieved within the GREENART project, emphasizing the role of sustainable nanotechnologies in the conservation of cultural heritage.
The session and lecture reaffirmed GREENART’s interdisciplinary and innovative approach in applying nanoscience to solve practical challenges in heritage preservation, strengthening the link between cutting-edge research and real-world applications in museums, archives, and conservation labs.
