13 – 14 April 2023

GREENART was presented at the two-day Conference and workshop on nano-materials: Nano-systems: research and applications on cultural heritage. The training was held in L’Aquila, a beautiful city that suffered a severe earthquake that occurred on April 6, 2009 in the Abruzzi region of central Italy. The event was co-organized by the Accademia di Belle Arti L’Aquila (ABAQ) and GREENART on April 13 and 14, 2023.

The conference and workshop brought together 28 third-, fourth- and fifth-year students following the five-year academic education as heritage conservators.  The training consisted of theoretical, didactical and hands-on approach.

During the conference, GREENART presented some of its innovative green materials for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage. The project aims to develop sustainable solutions that are compatible with the principles of conservation and restoration. One of the focus of the discussion was on what is the role of a conservator in a scientific research project.
